Porcelain Candy Bugs are colorful, playful, and collectible. Their beetle-like bodies are smooth and streamlined, highlighting the depth and layering of each complex glaze combination.
Each piece measures about 9” H × 10” W × 3” D and is designed to hang on the wall using one or two drywall screws. They can be displayed in any direction.
Every bug is press-molded and layered with a variety of juicy glazes that flux and flow in the kiln. I develop and mix each glaze from scratch, adding new colors seasonally. My goal is to create playful surfaces full of depth and character.
While I am very specific about my colors and color combinations, I love unexpected drips and the random fleck or bubble that results from layering.
