Candy Koi 06
Porcelain Candy Koi are colorful, playful, and collectable. Their fishy forms are smooth and streamlined, emphasizing the movement and depth of each complex glaze combination.
They measure about 14.5”hx8.5”wx4”d and are designed to hang on the wall (using a drywall screw or two) and can be turned in any direction.
Each koi is press-molded and layered with a variety of juicy glazes that flux and flow in the kiln. I develop and mix each glaze from scratch, adding new colors seasonally. My goal is to create playful surfaces full of depth and character. I am very specific about my colors and color combinations, but I love the unexpected drip and the random fleck or bubble that results from layering.
