Turquoise and Red Dots with Cobalt Blue Candy Bug
Porcelain Candy Bugs are colorful, well made, and just a little smaller than a dinner plate (about 9”hx10”wx3”d).
Each bug is press-molded and layered with a variety of juicy glazes that flux and flow in the kiln. I develop and mix each glaze from scratch, adding new colors seasonally. My goal is to create playful surfaces full of depth and character. I am very specific about my colors and color combinations but I love the unexpected drip and the random fleck or bubble that results from layering.
Candy Bugs are designed to hang on the wall (using a drywall screw or two) and can be turned in any direction.
